The Government has officially notified the Income-tax Act, 2025, after it received the President’s assent on August 21, 2025. The Ministry of Law and Justice published the legislation in the Gazette, confirming its applicability across the country. Replacing the six-decade-old Income-tax Act of 1961, the new law will come into force on April 1, 2026.
